  • The perinatal period encompasses the time frame from one year before to 18 to 24 months after the birth of a child. In other words, the perinatal period is broadly defined as the period shortly before, during, and after pregnancy. Perinatal Yoga is the practice of Yoga during the aforementioned time frame.

  • Yes! There is no better time to take up a yoga practice than during the perinatal period. Peaceful Seedling was created with ALL birthing bodies in mind, and I am confident in leading safe and effective classes for new and seasoned yoga students alike.

  • Absolutely! In fact, yoga is extremely beneficial during pregnancy, and this is well-supported among medical care providers and birth workers. It is, however, important to ask your trusted OBGYN or midwife for a thumbs up before beginning a yoga practice.

  • I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. This means that I have completed specialized training that qualifies me to guide students through yoga poses, breathing exercises, and meditation, and to teach the philosophy behind Yoga as a spiritual practice. As a perinatal yoga teacher, I am dedicated to ensuring that my student’s practice is first and foremost safe. I am NOT a medical care provider, doula, or licensed therapist, and I will not offer advice that falls under the expertise of one of these or any other professions. That being said, I am happy to recommend resources and offer suggestions for how to grow your support network.

  • Accessibility and inclusivity are core values in the Peaceful Seedling ethos. I understand that financial flexibility ebbs and flows for many of us! For this reason, sliding scale rates are available upon inquiry. These rates are based on household income. Teaching yoga is a mainstay in my livelihood, so we will work together to find a rate and/or payment program that is fair and equitable for both parties.

  • Classes may take place in the comfort of your home, office, or in a local community park (weather permitting). For group classes, please check out Whole Heart Space.

  • Absolutely! Private classes are thoughtfully designed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. For some of my clients, private classes are an opportunity to focus inward and to take a break from the demands of work and home life. For others, sharing their yoga practice with a loved one offers a meaningful way to connect and to feel supported throughout their pregnancy or postpartum recovery period. Let me know ahead of time if you plan to share your practice with a loved one so that I can plan your class accordingly.
